The patch is said to release on August 11, 2020, and will bring with it a plethora of changes to the base game along with the extended trial. That's roughly 100 hours of content for the low price of nothing. After trimming back some of the main quests to make them more streamlined, Square Enix has announced that the 5.3 patch for its mega-popular MMO will extend the free trial areas up to the Heavensward expansion. Thankfully, Final Fantasy XIV is going to make it easier for newcomers to get sucked in. It's not bad for the price, but it is a lot to ask upfront. For $15 a month (typically speaking), you can escape your real-life and live in a fantasy world with nearly endless amounts of content. They not only require a ton of hours to get to a comfortable spot, but they have a monthly cost associated with them. MMORPGs can be a real daunting task for many players.
